For years, when meeting new clients and endeavors, I’ve practiced a simple ask that is often neglected – and awkward to some – through habit. The ask is: I need you to be open and honest with me if this is going to work. Please be impeccable with your word.
And it often goes in one ear and out the other for obvious reasons.
If you want my help, you must be completely honest about where you’ve been, what you are doing, and truly what you are aiming to accomplish.
Because when lies, fluff, and manipulative answers are mixed in with the expectation for truth & results, the entire system will grind to a halt.
Then we spend all of our time sifting through the bullshit while wasting TMR (time, money, resources) instead of doing what we set out to do – the work that matters.
So please, let’s agree, in advance, to truly be impeccable with our words.
Good things,
Mark
