Time & Convenience.

Last week, I sat down with the GM of a client of ours (arguably one of my favorites) and we discussed technology, innovation, and how we can save our customers time through convenience. He explained his thoughts on Domino’s Pizza and their technological advances that make it very simple & convenient to order a pizza.

“Make it easy. Convenience is what our customers want,” he explained.

And he’s correct.

We say a lot of things are “king” in business, but the crown on my mind lately is Convenience.

Yes, I’ll say it: Convenience is King 👑

Alexa, Amazon, Uber, GrubHub… what do they all sell? Time. They save us time and make is convenient.

In this saturated, noisy market, the products & services that save us time will prevail. Heck, think of all the stuff you use on a daily basis – they all save you time. Emoji’s save you time. Abbreviations save you time (LOL, OMG, OMW, WTF, AF, ETC.). Siri saves you time. Double clicking a photo to acknowledge a friend or colleague (or girl/guy) saves you time. Misspelling a word on purpose via text (you know you do it) and having auto-correct correct it, saves you time.

Time is the one commodity you can’t get more of (regardless of your economic situation).

And like I mentioned in a blog about Alexa last year, voice is IT! Voice saves us a ton of time. Google stated several months ago that “1 in 5 mobile search queries are through voice.” Podcasts & other didactic audio (information) is replacing music (entertainment) – people want to get ahead and multi-task.

So, my advice to about ANY business out there, if you are trying to grab a competitive edge, strategize HEAVILY on speed & convenience.
