📚: I think you should read (and “LIKE”) this:
The difficult problems; the ones no one wants to solve – those are my favorite, and I’m happy to own them.
Because, to me, those are the only ones worth solving.
In one way or another, employees at businesses I work with tell me “it’s not my problem”.
Here are a few ways they say it:
❌ – We’ve always done it like that.
❌ – We can’t do that.
❌ – I don’t have control over it.
❌ – I can’t make the decision on that.
❌ – John is the one you need to talk to (and then John continues to pass the baton).
❌ – I have soooo many things on my plate.
❌ – We’re launching ______ and can’t get to that right now.
The problem: They’re caught up in tasks, and not willing to work on the stuff others are afraid to fix.
What if we take the responsibility instead of waiting for it to be offered?
What if we make things better no matter how difficult or daunting that may be?
What if I told you that you don’t need permission?
I know it’s hard; but that’s why it’s valuable.
